As a junior boxer , she showcased her prowess by clinching a gold medal at the 2014 European Junior Championships and a bronze at the 2015 World Youth Championship.

Chantelle’s return as a senior boxer was marked by remarkable resilience and skill. She quickly regained her fitness and fighting edge, becoming National Champion and earning the honour of representing England. Her solid performances and thorough assessments paved the way for her selection to Team GB, where she trained with some of the finest boxers and coaching team in the sport.

A Remarkable Comeback

The road back was not easy. Chantelle’s general fitness returned swiftly, but regaining her fighting fitness took time and immense effort. Sparring with top female boxers was a rigorous reintroduction to the sport, but it propelled her to elevate her game rapidly. Once her timing was back, sparring became an enjoyable part of her routine, fuelling her drive to succeed.

From winning the championships to being selected for the Olympic team, Chantelle’s journey has been a whirlwind. Reflecting on her path, she says, “It was the best time of my life. The preparation leading up to it was graft but worth the hard work.”

A Family’s Support and Unwavering Determination

Supported by her dedicated coaches, her father (Duane), grandad (Brian), family and team, Chantelle embraced the opportunity to enter the Olympic qualifier in Italy with only six weeks’ notice.

“As soon as I got the call to enter the qualifier in Italy, I had six weeks’ notice, and I had to do it. We had one chance as I wasn’t sure if I’d get selected again for the third qualifier in May. So I just thought this is it, I am doing it now. It was six weeks of pure graft, but we got it done, and I got the ticket to go to Paris.”
